5 NYC Spring Break Activities for Families of All Ages

Parents, if you’re looking to come to New York City this spring for vacation, then you’re in for a real treat in terms of weather, local events, and fun things to do for all ages. While you’re going to want to make your reservations sooner rather than later, from there you can brainstorm and explore a wide range of itinerary options.

To help guide you towards some can’t-fail choices, here are five spring break activities for families traveling to the Big Apple:

CHECK OUT CENTRAL PARK

Historically, Central Park has been one of Manhattan’s most iconic and welcoming family attractions, and in the spring season, it comes to life. Head here to rent bikes and cruise around, set up a picnic on the Great Lawn while your kids run about, and catch the occasional street-performing musician playing a tune with a snack from one of the park’s many vendors selling pretzels, churros, and more.

SPRING IN BLOOM AT THE MACY’S FLOWER SHOW

March 26th-April 9th

Attracting families every year, The Macy’s Flower Show’s 2023 installment always promises to be fantastic. Taking place again at Macy’s flagship location in Herald Square continues the tradition of exhibiting larger-than-life displays made up of gorgeous, colorful flowers. Families in town during the show should absolutely swing by!

HEAD TO YANKEE STADIUM OR CITI FIELD

On a more regular and frequent schedule throughout the spring and then summer, the Yankees and Mets will continue bringing classic professional baseball to New York City. Taking the kids up to the Bronx to see the team with the most World Series wins in history can be truly unforgettable. In Queens, the Mets also put on a show as a leading threat in the National League.

SEE A BROADWAY SHOW

Throughout the year, Broadway remains a leading destination for families coming to New York City. This spring will include a number of fun productions and openings including Peter Pan Goes Wrong on April 19th at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, and Life of Pi opening on March 30th at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre

TAKE THE FAMILY TO THE MOVIES

Throughout the year, New York City screens great family-friendly films across its many theaters. For those visiting towards the end of the season, you can also take your family to a feature or short at the Tribeca Film Festival, which will run from June 7th through the 18th this year.
